Biblical Counseling
Following the work which our Lord Jesus Christ began, from the very inception of the Christian Church it
has been involved in the ministry of bringing wholeness and healing to the inner person of men and women.
For nearly 2,000 years the Church has specifically engaged in dealing with mental-emotional-behavioral problems
through what was historically known as the “cure of souls.” Wise, discerning, skillful and insightful counsel
was given in such a way to minister to the thoughts, values, attitudes, relationships, behaviors and emotions
of individuals. This is not a new endeavor, but one that has gone on since the creation of mankind, and one to
which we believe Christ calls His Church today. To engage in this ministry we believe is a divine ministry of
love and should be undertaken in a manner consistent with the character of our Lord, and the revelation of His Word.
Therefore, Faith Bible Church provides an ongoing counseling ministry through which people can be helped to find
God’s healing for their hurt, forgiveness for their sins, renewal in relationships, and lasting change in their mind,
emotions, and behaviors. Led by the Spirit of God and instructed by the principles and precepts of His Word, skilled
counselors compassionately and carefully work with couples, individuals - young and elderly alike, guiding and mentoring
in finding healing and wholeness. At FBC we recognize the reality of “organic illness” and disease. However, we believe,
and research has validated, that the vast majority of people’s problems are problems of “living” and handling the stresses,
relationships, and issues of life. The vast majority of people seeking counsel - in need of someone to come alongside
them and help, are in need of the help which the Bible carefully instructs and guides us: how to live, how to relate to
others, how to find meaning in life, how to know God, and how to be the kind of person that honors Him and blesses others.
